The undergraduate category is for students aged 17 to 21 able to undertake five years of study in humanities and social sciences, including one-year preliminary study of the Japanese language. A Bachelor's degree is awarded on completion.
The research category is for graduate or final-year students under the age of 35. Applicants must be willing to conduct a two-year research program and study Japanese. Examinations and interviews for scholarship applicants will be conducted at the Embassy of Japan and Consulates-general throughout Australia. Applications close Tuesday June 17.
