Japan Airlines (JAL) has joined forces with oneworld alliance, a customer benefit program which includes the major carriers British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Qantas. The partnership was commemorated at a JAL office lunch party.

With a portfolio of work that ranges from teacups to towering seven-storey artworks, Yusuke Aida is one of Japan's most accomplished and well-known ceramic artists. He was a featured speaker recently at Sydney's Japan Foundation Gallery.

Event: Japanese pottery exhibition opening
Venue: The Japan Foundation Gallery

Exquisite Japanese pottery from 35 ceramic artists featured at the Japan Foundation Gallery in October. Paying credit to the work of many new artists in this old craft, the exhibition was titled "Japanese Pottery; the Rising Generation from Traditional Japanese Kilns".

Event: JNTO travel seminar
Venue: Shangri-La Hotel Sydney

More than just the "sights" of Japan were on display at a travel seminar hosted in October by the Sydney office of the Japanese National Tourist Organisation (JNTO). The seminar focused on experience-based tourism to Japan, rather than conventional "sightseeing".
