Marathon win for Japanese woman

Naoko Tsuchiya was the first female to cross the Sydney Opera House finish line in the full marathon event of this year's Sydney Running Festival. Tsuchiya recorded a time of 2:43:10 to come in 18th overall at the event held on September 23. Kenya's Julius Maritim won the full marathon for the third time, this year posting a record 2:14:38. More than 25,000 participants took part in the 2007 festival, which included a full marathon, half marathon, 10km run, fun run and wheelchair events.
