Event: Opening for yuzen master Shumei Kobayashi exhibition

About 170 invitees were treated to a live demonstration by yuzen craftsman Shumei Kobayashi at the launch of his exhibition, "Furoshiki: Reviving a Dyeing Art". Tsutsugaki yuzen is one of the classical techniques of yuzen dyeing, boasting a 400-year history.

Mr Kobayashi spoke of the history of furoshiki and the art of tsutsugaki yuzen John King, Michiyo King, Hidenori Yoshikawa, Janine Kitson and Margaret Kitson at the exhibition opening
