Japanese Government scholarships for 2008

The Japanese Government is offering scholarships to Australian citizens for study in Japan beginning in 2008. There are two categories on offer: the undergraduate category and the research category.
The undergraduate category is for students aged 17 to 21 able to undertake five years of study, including one-year preliminary study of the Japanese language. A Bachelor's degree is awarded on completion.
The research category is for graduate or final year students up to age 35. Applicants must be willing to conduct a two-year research program and study Japanese.
Examinations and interviews will be conducted at Japan's embassy and consulates-general. Details: www.japan.org.au.
