JAL to join oneworld global alliance
In a move welcomed by airline commuters across Asia and the
world, Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced it will become a
full member of the oneworld Global Alliance from April 1 this
year.
JAL, already the largest carrier in the Asia-Pacific region
in terms of both revenue and passenger transfer, will join
American Airlines and British Airways as one of oneworld's
big threeユ members.
JAL's new status on the oneworld team is great news for passengers
who will be able to use accumulated mileage points for award
travel on all oneworld Alliance member airlines while also
receiving a wider choice of JMB (JAL Mileage Bank) awards in
exchange for accumulated travel miles.
In addition, top tier JMB members will have access to more
privileges, including the use of over 400 airport lounges worldwide,
priority check-in and seating, smoother transfers and interline
e-ticketing (IET). These benefits promise ultra-efficient and
superior airline handling for passengers.
